Flying at Sywell airport

on Saturday 12th September 2009

We arrived at Sywell (me, Catherine and Richard) this morning arriving to see the view of some WW2 cars in the car park, and a massive field with small planes on the field. I felt excitement from the moment I stepped out of the car, with the sun shining too; it was a good start to the day.

We were put into groups, A, B, C and D to enable us to all get the opportunity to do different activities.  We all had a safety briefing which was very useful.   Throughout the day we did map reading, marshalling, tours on different planes/helicopters, alphabet, an egg contest and of course FLYING!  I sat in the only rocket car!!

Overall the day was well planned, and I think everyone enjoyed it.  It is not an everyday opportunity to be able to get an event like this to happen – especially free.
