On Saturday 14th May 2011 we paraded through Daventry to mark 100 years of Scouting in Daventry & District. It was a huge success and I am writing to thank those of you who came and supported the event. It was lovely to see so many Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and adults, some in uniform and some in costumes walking and celebrating our centenary year.
I also want to thank all who supported the bases and the young people on the field, I heard lots of laughter as I was walking around. It was also great to say hello to so many people. Thanks also goes to Foggy's parents who showed us some Scouting history with pictures and uniforms from the past.
I know the refreshment area supported by the Jamboree contingent raised some money for Shelter box, which is also great news.
We were also lucky that the rain stayed away so what more can I say execept to say thank you once again.
Here are some pictures of the day
