I am sure you have all heard of Guide Dogs for the Blind and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, but I feel a lot do not know about the wonderful Charity, Dogs for the Disabled. Now in its 23rd Year.
Dogs for the Disabled provide and train assistance dogs for Disabled Adults and Children.
We have a newly formed support group in Northamptonshire, our aim is to raise awareness of the charity and also raise vital funds too.
We would like the opportunity to come to any of your Section/Group meetings, even your AGM, and tell you about the wonderful work these dogs do to give a better quality of life to a Disabled Adult or Child, the things that they do for them is phenomenal.
For more information or to book a talk please contact Kay Duncan on 01933 442453 or Sue Gray on 01933 381621
You may have an Assistance dog with its Disabled Partner or a Puppy Socialiser with one of the puppy’s in training come out to you, therefore we would like to know if your premises are disabled/wheelchair friendly so that we send the right speaker when booking please
Our Group consists of Clients with Working Assistance Dogs, Puppy Socialisers, Temporary Boarders and just Supporters.
Together with my Husband Peter we have homed and looked after 2 brood bitches and their litters for the charity (now both retired) and reared 41 puppies.
I am still a Registered Speaker and supporter of the charity as well as Appointment secretary for Wellingborough District Scouts.
I am very passionate about this Charity as I have seen how the dogs have changed people’s lives and given them a purpose in life.
Regards
Jo Jones
