Star Trek this year was a resounding success. We initially had 22 teams book to attend, which meant two teams starting at each of our 11 bases (checkpoints). On the night we had a total of 19 teams attend from all across the district which is a brilliant turnout. One of the reasons for teams not attending was large outbreaks of swine flu in their areas but we were not going to let that stop us.
The weather was perfect on the night, the best for Star Trek I can remember in a long time.
This year’s course was longer than in recent years but we thought it was time for a challenge. The total distance was a shade less than 12 miles, so to actually complete the course would have been a formidable task.
The performance of the teams varied considerably but the enthusiasm to take part and give a go did not. However , there was many a tired face in morning, we told you to go to sleep (you know who you are).
The winning team was way ahead of the rest managing to complete 10 out of 11, so well done!
Finally I must say another good year, with special thanks and gratitude to all those that helped. We could not have done it without you.
Thank you from the Fellowship in Action team
