Beaver Scout Kwik Cricket - Due to a lack of numbers on the uptake to this event it has been postponed. Having discussed it with the organiser Ann Pacman she is willing to put another date on in next year's calendar. After checking around with most of you there appears to be various commitments to other events this weekend ie village fetes, county event and family commitments. It is a very busy time of year and we will try to avoid this next year.

Message from John Rogers, ADC (Young People’s Programme) Hi all On behalf of Pete Malpas and the District team, can I pass on my thanks and congratulations to all the young people and the leadership teams that took part in this year’s St George’s Day event. It was clear that a great deal of time and effort that had been put into the costumes, standards, wheelbarrows, push karts and sedan chairs and it was fantastic to see so many groups represented. The smiles and laughter spoke louder than words – thanks for taking part and making it such a great day. Click here to see some pictures of the day YiS John |

Firstly I would like to congratulate all the young people and leadership teams who attended brass monkeys at horley this year. There was in excess of 150 people on camp and they all coped with the strong winds and rain admairably. In great scouting spirit everyone pulled together in assisting each other over the course of the weekend and I never saw one person winge or grumble. They only smiled and took part in the activities and fun. A BIG thank-you to the organising team headed up by Evonne Saunders and Horley campsite and their team. It takes me great pleasure in informing you all that 2010 Winter Camp is being headed up my Rosemary Verner. So if you would like to be on the core team please do not hesitate in contacting Rosemary direct. Yours in Scouting Pete Malpas (Daventry District DC) |

A KNIGHT and dragons joined hundreds of scouts parading through Daventry town centre on Saturday to mark St George's Day. The annual parade of cubs, scouts and beavers from across the Daventry area set out from the Chaucer Way car park and headed through the town's streets to arrive at the New Street Rec where the groups renewed their promises and took part in races.
